    The Plan

    We are committed to delivering a modern and connected public transport system in Greater Hobart that utilises our river, roads and bridges to provide commuters with attractive alternatives to private car transport.

    We are working with the Australian Government and Greater Hobart local councils to deliver a program of works to improve Hobart’s transport system, which will include:

    • new and enhanced walking, wheeling and cycling networks
    • a new, integrated rapid bus network and improved bus services
    • multiple new ferry terminals and routes
    • a number of significant road infrastructure projects.

    Keeping Hobart Moving – Transport Solutions for Our Future (PDF 1.8 MB) (The Plan) is the draft plan to deliver the government’s transport improvement commitment.

    The Plan outlines how over the next 10+ years, existing and future projects will deliver a transport system that creates an accessible, people-focused and future-ready city that enables economic prosperity and liveability.
